A novel
Iraseme, the daughter of a rich ranch owner, an ancestor of conquistadors should have kept her vow to her Indian lover. Their love would not have escaped destruction but maybe the truth would have kept her son out of trouble. If Sergio, her son, had defied the promise made to his mother, perhaps the enraged ghost of his victim might have limited her vengeance to her killer. But Delores, Sergio’s lover and a medicine woman, is reticent to obey the warning of her dream and stand by while Sergio dies. The sum of their actions unleashes a terrible curse that blurs the lines between reality and that of the spirits forcing the youngest members of the family to face the sins of the past and solve the mystery of the curse—if they ever hope to escape it.
