♦ Anti-war

In college I was very active in the anti-war movement.  I was a member of several organizations including Not In My Name and On the Ground. I helped facilitate a walk-out at my school and participated in the great march on Lake Shore Drive March 20th, 2003.

♦ Chicago Clean Power Coalition Field Team

http://cleanpowerchicago.org/

Helped organize, plan events and contribute to communication projects as a part of the campaign to pass the Clean Power Ordinance which led to  the closing of two of the nation’s oldest and dirtiest coal-burning power plants. Also supported the campaign to pass community aggregation in Chicago.

Tutored grade school children every Monday afternoon, helping with writing and homework at 826CHI, a non-profit organization  that provides free tutoring to Chicago students.

♦ Freelance Environmentalism

I do my best to keep apprised of issues, movements and event such as the Key Stone XL Pipeline and the Moving Planet, Roll Beyond Coal Day of Action and do what I can to help: sign petitions, write letters, make phone calls, use social networking to inform and encourage action.
